Handyman Subcontractor

We are currently hiring a Handyman person to work as sub-contractors. The position offers flexible hours, mostly evenings and weekends. Our clients are located all throughout Vancouver lower mainland and the Fraser Valley.

The Handyman / supervisor Person will be provided a software that produces work orders. The position carries out planned and emergency maintenance and repairs for commercial facilities, such as Strata’s, supermarkets, retail stores, and restaurants. Works with other trades groups to complete small to large projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responds to trouble calls and takes corrective action, which includes troubleshooting problems. The problems are sometimes difficult to identify, solutions are not standard and obvious.
  • Communicates with a variety of TCS clients and external contractors.
  • Performs a variety of duties relating to building and ground maintenance including: inspecting and repairing leaks in roofs and other areas; patching and painting damaged walls and floors; repairing masonry including brick and cement blocks; repairing damage to roadways, sidewalks, stone pavers, etc.; cleaning and maintaining drainage facilities, fencing and gate repairs.
  • Leak investigation due to water ingress in the building envelope photo survey skill, carpentry skills, membrane applications
  • Knows how to use and operate an aerial boom lift, scissor lift, man lift up to 65 feet.
  • Install washroom dispensers; assemble pre-fabricated furniture, shelves and dividers.
  • Tile and grouting, carpet square installation, and caulking
  • Obtains materials and supplies for projects and maintains records related to performing above tasks.
  • Aerial boom lift and elevated scissor lift certification, WCB codes, regulations, Occupational First aid certification and WHIMS training is an asset
  • Assist sales person with quoting projects

Qualifications:

Logical problem solvers and quick thinkers. Energetic and outgoing, inventive and resourceful, they love using common sense to find smarter ways of doing things.

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Good mechanical ability required.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve buildings maintenance related issues
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and building plans is an asset.

  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability
